I think that epidemiology is going to be a difficult class for me personally. There
are so many components that have an influence on health and diseases in a
certain population. Another issue I
heard about this class is the heavy workload that can be very intimidating, so
I want to be able to stay on top of everything to be successful in this
class. Also, I am nervous about knowing
what to say in the blog posts to successfully post what my professor is looking
for. Another point of interest I have in
epidemiology is to look into what countries have the most diseases affecting
its population and what we can do to eradicate these diseases. Lastly, I hope that after taking this class I
will have a better understanding of what epidemiology actually is.
I plan to be an Occupational Therapist after my schooling, with my main
focus to be on children. I think it will
be important to see how this class will affect me in the workforce. I want to be able to identify what diseases
are the most prevalent in the population that I will be working with. Also, I want to be able to know how to
identify these diseases and figure out how to provide the most affective
therapy for the individual. I would like
to find out what diseases have cures and how affective these cures are. On the other hand, I would like to look into
if there is any diseases that effect specifically fine motor skills that would
make me have to rethink how I could work with this individual to benefit
them. Finally, I think that this class will help me become a more prepared and successful healthcare professional.
